2009 Yearly Review & 2010 Predictions/Goals!
Thursday, December 31st, 2009
In January we turned over the New Year along with everyone else, I can’t even recall what we did that day. Around the end of January is where our year really began. We were given the open chance to fulfill our dreams of moving. With much research, February we went to Cary, NC to find a place to live. Hope saw us through – and we got a place and it was time to pack up our life.
Dan and I hit 2 years of being together on March 10th. On March 15th, we found ourselves moving out of Kentucky and never looking back. March 16th we moved in to our new apartment and started our new life together. Luckily we had a savings we could live off of while trying to look for jobs. We ALSO got a Twitter account. Yes, I will admit, I thought it was unneeded. What would be the reason to have multiple thoughts per day in 140 characters? Who knew?
Dan got a job in April, I was still looking. With him working, we finally got cable and internet. April started the show “Pitchmen.” Once I heard it was coming on, I knew that (and something was telling me) I HAD TO watch that show. It just felt right.
April went quickly as May flew in… I still applied for tons more jobs and interviewed with a few but it just didn’t work out. I kept having hope, even though I was getting to the point of being depressed and discouraged. I kept holding on though.
June we had to go back to Kentucky to tie up all of the loose ends. I finally got the vehicle title in my name (from my parents), visited with family and saw some friends. Also, on the very last day we were there, I checked Twitter and Billy III had written that one tweet… that sent a lot of us into shock of tears… Billy Mays had passed away.
First week of July I get this call from guy at WFC, saying he saw my resume on Craigslist and he was interested because I did photography. I saw this as a sign from the great Billy Mays angel up in Heaven! WFC interviewed me and I got the job. On Twitter, we had a BM hash tag going for his birthday and I met TONS and TONS of Pitchmen friends. That was one of the most amazing things that happened. We became closer because of BM. Among those people we met were John & Terri – wonderful pitch folks from HSN. ALSO – Dan proposed to me (and again on my birthday when my ring was resized).
August; I don’t remember much of August nor September. Other than my parents came and visited September. Oh and – “Pitch it to the pros” and Livemercial came into my life as they were at the ERA event with the Pitchmen crew doing auditions for the next season. That was a very important time for me J As I am Pitchmen’s #1 fan and demand as much info as possible about it… such a high interest for me!
October Dan’s family came down to visit us; we went to the NC State Fair for the first time and enjoyed ourselves! We also started working on our business and gathering up everything we could to make it successful from beginning to end prior to an “opening” date. I also became Queen of Arwen’s fan club. :D
November was the most memorable month. We decided to take a weekend (out of the mid-air blue) and go to Tampa to visit the best people ever. Meeting the Pitchmen had changed our lives for the better good. Realizing that all of them have a story, work hard, do good and carry such positive vibes – all of that made us want to work even harder to become better to work towards the same lifestyle. We love them so much and wish we could be closer to them now that we’ve met them. I knew we had become fans of a great show – I knew there was a reason for it. Life has changed – so much for the better – because of them. No one knows just how much. We are ever so grateful (forever) for all of the memories we made…
December came and went just like most of the months of this year. I got my hair colored RED and became the red headed pirate hooker. We had an amazing time with family at Christmas, I think it had to of been one of the best Christmases for me. My mom even made me sugar cookies (recipe from grandma) and peanut butter rolls! Yum! We spent most of December working towards being done for the business to open in January.

Predictions & Thoughts on 2010:
Now that we are closing in on 2009, I am looking so forward to 2010. First, I am really excited about the full blue moon tonight. I have started this new thing of making goals on full moons, so I have goals to make! Yes! Not to mention a Lunar Journal!
I’m very excited to announce that our online-only business will open January 11th. I am nervous and excited and hope for the best of what the outcome will be… hopefully this will open up other opportunities for us.
Dan and I are getting married (FINALLY LIKE OMFG FINALLY) on 10/10/10. I am more than excited and cannot wait!!!!
I’m looking forward to more Pitchmen Pilgrimages. There better be more. I miss them. A lot.
I’m looking (more than forward to) Pitchmen SEASON TWO!!!! (The most – of all our shows.)
There better be a many boat ride in my future. Also, we have to arrange a ball pit party (this is only for a secluded few of us…). Justine and I have to make j j j j jimmy and pirate juice. And… hopefully I will find my Turbo Snake that slithered away from my eyes and reach.
I will make it close to 50,000 tweets. I will then win a prize. Ha!
Hopefully, I will finish Push Pin Memories and publish it. As well as starting the Pirate Hooker book…. And my emo poetry book from when I was in high school.
All in all – I hope this is definitely a win-win year. I hope 2010 is the year for (more) HOPE. I hope that things will change a lot for us… but make things better. I hope that more will fall into place…. Best of all, I hope we get to spend more time with our favorite people and that our business will take us somewhere.
That is all. 2010 – here we go…
