work portfolio
July 11th, 2010Thank you for being interested in the Karen Maeby’s current and previous work! I hope that you leave here today with her as a prospect project worker in the future. If you live locally and/or supply a project that will fit her talents that can be done over the Internet – just contact her! She’ll be excited to chit-chat with you.
What is Karen Maeby doing currently?
She is currently the full-time vp-marketer-eBayer-social networking-admin for The Jetski Store, SDSkis, SDMarine. This is a company built from ground up and will prove their successes once they move into their retail space and start their business fully in the community. The Jetski Store is a company that will have eBay and online website sales, development of their own products, a retail store front and servicing center for jetskis. Creating the logos and graphics for this company is probably her most favorite thing to do.
On her free time, she is trying to brand herself – for this blog – and for future promotion of her writing. She’s trying her best to find some way to sell her photography (again), sell items on eBay, and come up with a product line for her brand. She is also always working on some novel, poetry or writing of some sort, in hopes that she’ll finish one and publish it.
What does she have experience in (talent, do on her own, etc)?
Blogging & Social Networking: She is ALWAYS blogging and talking via FB/Twitter. She knows how to use all of the social networking sites to the best of her ability – She also knows how to market this way too.
Photography: She has been practicing photography on her own since 7th grade. She took two graphic arts classes in high school and continued to practice those lessons outside of class to become better.
Writing: She has also been writing since earlier than 7th grade. She’s taken many, many humanities and English classes in high school AND college. She continues to write every day (blogging, poetry, stories, etc) to utilize and continues improving her writing skills. She have also published a poetry eBook recently, you can get that HERE.
Creativity: She draws a little, creates a little and designs a little. She has designed numerous banners for my her websites, small graphics and business cards.
A little bit of marketing/promotion: She voluntarily helped promote Pitchmen more than the Discovery Channel did, seriously. She used Facebook and Twitter to help do that as well as getting a Pitchmen chat group together each week during the second season. She also marketed herself, but enjoy marketing others a little better, especially the ones she strongly believes in like the-was Pitchmen, the now Anthony Sullivan, and all of her direct response friends.
What areas does she have actual work experience in?
Her current work (see first paragraph).
She has worked as an administrative assistant to a coin dealer for 2 years. She took full care of the eBay online business.
She worked retail for 4 years, 1 full year of that was management at two different stores. Her favorite parts to retail was working the business math and visual merchandising (juniors clothing, mannequins, jewelry, purses, etc). She loved the back end part of seeing sales being made.
Karen Maeby also volunteered for 6 years during her middle and high school years as a teacher’s aide. She highly enjoyed the secretarial work from a music director, English teacher and various other teachers. Responsibilities included helping at concerts (set up/tear down, designing programs), taking care of a composer board, grading papers, cleaning out a small closet full of stuff, etc.
GRAPHICS
Any of the graphics (like banners or individual ‘codes’ with her name on it), she has designed. She has also designed the graphics for her PitchmenEnthusiast.com blog, as well as any websites she has previously had.
Here’s one example of a random graphic she made:

NOTE: Although Karen Maeby will certainly be busy with her full time job, she’s also always looking for photography/creative/writing projects or chances to help market or promote small businesses and products. She eventually wants to write commercials for the direct response industry, one industry she loves very much! She has an entrepreneurial spirit that has a mind for business and creativity – contact her – you won’t be disappointed.
